Burning Church Forest/Book 2/Noise Machine/2009 Full Length Review

This  is  a  review  of  another  recording  from  Burning Church  Forest  with  the  music  being  satanic, life  hating, chaotic black metal  and  symphonic  overtones  with  the  album  being  called  "Book  2" and  released  in  2009  by Noise  Machine.

"Ashes Of  The  Crucifix"  begins  with  the  sounds  of  fires  burning  before  adding in some  raw  and  primitive   sounding  black  metal  guitar  riffs  and  after  awhile  the drums start  kicking  in  along  with  some  blast  beats  which  leads  up  to  some  high  pitched  screams  and  halfway  through  the  song  the  music  slows  down    and  you  can  hear  some  keyboards  in  the  background  and  after  awhile  it  returns  back  to  being  fast  and  primitive  and  the  song closes  with  some  deep  demonic  voices  and  fires.

"The  Freezing  Fog"  begins  with  some demonic  sounding  vocals  which  also  utilize  grim  black  metal  elements  and  then  the  slow  and  dark  guitar  riffs  along with  some  drums  start  kicking  in  and  towards  the  end  there  are  some  dark  and  atmospheric  sounds  in  the  background.

'The  Dead  Trees"  begins  with  some  slow  and  dark  primitive  black  metal  guitar  and  grim sounding high  pitched  screams  which  lead  to  some  drums  which  take  the  song  into  a  faster  direction along  with  some  blast  beats  and  an  atmospheric  background  and  after  awhile  the  vocals  start  utilizing  some  demonic  elements  which  leads  to the  music  slowing  down  again  but  remaining  heavy  along  with  some  depressive  screams  and  then  the  song  starts  switching  back  and  forth  between  slow  and  fast  parts  and  in  certain sections  you  can  hear  some  guitar  solos  and  leads  and  the  song  closes  with  the  sounds  of  churches  being on  fire.

"Watch  The  Alter  Burn" begins with  some  soft  and  clean  guitar  playing which  utilizes  some finger  picking  and  then  some distorted  sounds  are  added into  the  song  which  leads  up  to  some  drums  and  black  metal  vocals  as  well as  some  doom  metal influenced  guitar  riffs  and  halfway  through  the  song  there  is  a  brief  use  of  symphonic  sounding  keyboards  and  towards  the  end  the  music  goes  into  a  more  dark  blackened  ambient  direction  but  also  keeping around  the  guitars  and  the  song  closes  with  some  clean  and  acoustic  guitars as  well  as  church  fires.

"Sacrifice  Your  Freedom"  begins with  some  drum  beats  and  after  a  few  seconds  slow  black  metal guitar  riffs  start  coming  in  along with  some  demonic  vocals  and  later  on  high  pitched  screams  and  as  time  goes  on  by  the  music  starts  getting  a  little  more  fast  and  primitive  sounding  along  with  some  blast  beats that  come  in  and  out  at times  and  then  the  song  starts  switching  back  and  forth  between  slow  and  fast  parts  and  halfway  through  the  song  the  music  stops  and  whispers  start taking  over  along with  some  avant  garde and  noise  sounds  and  after  a  couple  of  minutes  dark  ambient  sounding  keyboards  start coming in  and   they  close  the  song and  album.

Song lyrics  cover  satanism  and  life  hating  themes,  while  the  production  has  a  very  dark,  raw  and primitive   sound  with  the  bass  guitars  being  mixed  down  low  in  the  mix  as  well  as  most  of  the  songs  being  long  and epic  in  length.

In  my  opinion  this  is  another  great  sounding  album  from  Burning  Church  Forest  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  raw  and  primitive  sounding  satanic  black  metal  that  is  very  different  and  original, you  should  check out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "The  Freezing  Fog"  and  "Watch  The  Alter  Burn".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
