Wind Of The Black Mountains/Sing Thou Unholy Servants/Moribund Records/1998 CD Review

Wind Of The Black Mountains where a band from Lansing, Michigan that played a very satanic and anti christian form of raw black metal and this is a review of their 1998 album "Sing Thou Unholy Servants" which was released by Moribund Records.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown in at times, while the keyboards when they are utilized bring a very dark, ritualistic and atmospheric feeling to the music with a brief use of satanic sounding violins, as for the bass playing it has a very dark tone with riffs that follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times they have a very powerful sound to them.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffs that are very raw and primitive sounding with a thrash feeling at times, while the lead guitars are very chaotic sounding black metal guitar solos and leads, as for the classical guitars when they are utilized they use finger picking and exotic sounding scales to enhance the darkness of the music.

Vocals are mostly grim sounding black metal screams with a brief use of female vocals, demonic growls and spoken word parts, while the lyrics cover satanic and anti christian themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.

In my opinion Wind Of The Black Mountains where a very great sounding ritualistic raw and primitive sounding satanic black metal band and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Forcefed Into Blasphemy" "Black Goat" "Thy Shadow(Hill Of The Horned God)". RECOMMENDED BUY.
