So Hideous My Love/To Clasp A Fallen Wish With Broken Fingers/Play The Assasin Records/2011 CD Review

So Hideous My Love are a band from New York that plays a style that I would describe as being post black metal and this is a review of their 2011 album "To Clasp A Fallen Wish With Broken Fingers" which was released by Play The Assassin Records.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some occasional blast beats, while the keyboards when they are utilized they bring a classical music feel to the music mixed in with some other classical instruments, as for the bass playing it has a dark tone that is mixed down low in the mix and seem to follow the riffs that are coming out of the guitars

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast riffs that combine black metal and post rock while the lead guitars are very distorted and melodic sounding.

Vocals are mostly high pitched black metal screams, while the lyrics cover dark themes, as for the production it has a very dark and heavy feel to it.

In my opinion So Hideous My Love are a very good and original sounding post black metal band and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Handprints Of Glass" and "To Clasp A Fallen Wish With Broken Fingers". RECOMMENDED BUY.
